Técnica y estilo

Lyrical dance practitioners, in addition to interpreting music and expressing emotions, learn a high classical technical base and improve their physical condition and muscle tone. It is an ideal discipline for lovers of jazz and ballet.

It resembles contemporary dance, although it has differentiating elements that make it an independent discipline.

These well-known movements are elongated, pulled from their center, and distorted to create a new aesthetic in the lyrics. Although some studios advertise it as a class, "lyrical technique" technically does not exist. A dancer cannot master dance  without the knowledge and mastery of basic jazz , ballet, and modern technique.

Because of the links between dance styles, teachers originally struggled to teach lyrical dance alongside jazz or ballet or as its own separate style. The main concern with lyrical dance is the distinction between lyrical as a style and/or technique.

In the Lyric, the male and female dancers are inspired by the lyrics of a song or instrumental music to express themselves bodily. Artistic resources such as gestures, facial expressions, complex and technical movements are taken into account when conveying emotions.

The choreography is determined by the attitudes and perceptions of the artist himself or the choreographer.

In a playful way, they develop skills such as the correct positioning of the body, the use of space, coordination and rhythm. All framed with the learning of the basic movements of the Ballet. The main challenge that any dancer has is the use of movement as an instrument of personal interpretation of music. Through his de ella interpretation of her of her, he will show certain emotions such as: joy, love, despair, jealousy... It is possible to translate the entire spectrum of human emotions into movement. For this reason, lyrical dance is ideal for people who are looking for a physical outlet, as well as an emotional one.

Likewise, lyrical dance is a fairly recent dance style, in the same way as the tendency to associate any type of art not only with expression, but also with therapy understood as an alternative way of dealing with certain problems. Lyrical dance, as we mentioned at the beginning of this article, is influenced by ballet and jazz, but in turn, pop, alternative music and folk have influenced this style. Some of the lyrical dance shows have an experimental component: considering that emotion is not always manageable or rational, this fact is not so strange .
